Man Pack Express

We provide a comprehensive and streamlined man-pack service, which eliminates hassle and offers a swift and efficient process for managing all of your Workwear requirements. The service makes it simple to receive your order as an individual wearer pack, with your employee’s name labelled on it. For those of our customers with large teams, this is an ideal option to streamline the process and eliminate unnecessary administration.

Benefits of Man-pack Express:

  • There is no limit to the number of man-packs we can despatch
  • The service is fully automated and managed through our proven and tested workwear management system, providing an end-to-end process which maximises efficiency and accuracy, from initial order through to production and despatch
  • Orders are simple, placed on our online integrated smiLE system. It takes just four days to get set up; all we need is a spreadsheet with staff names and locations, and we will do the rest!
  • Man-pack Express supports different grades for staff, against which you can allocate different products, to automate ordering even further.
In house Embroidery and Heatseal

We have invested in one of the largest in-house embroidery production plants in the UK. We run it 24 hours a day from our production facility in Fareham. We use industry-leading technology totalling 40 heads, providing ample resource to turnaround even the largest orders promptly and to a high standard.

We have the capacity to brand over 4,000 garments every day, and offer a commitment to deliver all orders within just four days (and all heat sealed garments within just 48 hours). Similarly to our embroidery function, we also carry out all heat sealing in-house, in an adjacent department to our embroidery suite. This affords full quality monitoring, and absolute control and oversight of each order by skilled, experienced operatives.

Online ordering and Management

Our ordering process benefits from a truly streamlined system which enables us to maintain stock securely, and anticipate the needs of our customers. Through a fully integrated real-time stock management system, we have total control over all operations, from initial enquiry through to garment despatch.

Our ‘smiLE’ system has been refined since 2013, to provide a comprehensive and simple interface for our customers. Fast, accurate, intuitive and effective, it takes the hassle away from ordering PPE and maximises order simplicity and visibility.

smiLE is ideal for larger organisations with multiple locations, as it provides an accurate, efficient and reliable platform for managing more complex high-volume orders. smiLE is fully integrated with both our Stock Express and Man-pack Express online ordering systems, which we provide with no additional overheads, completely free of charge.

Bespoke Design and Manufacture

We are one of the only Workwear providers in the UK who is a manufacturer with full control over our own production cycle. We have invested in the development of industry-leading Workwear including Hi-vis clothing, safety wear, footwear and hand protection.  We work globally to source the most durable, ethical and safe materials, tailoring our procurement to ensure that our choices meet the needs of the key industries which we support.

Through our own team of skilled designers, we continuously evolve and enhance our products according to the needs of our customers. Using industry-leading design technology and pattern systems, we maximise accuracy, comfort and consistency in production.

By partnering with mills and test houses globally, we maintain visibility of new and emerging market trends to access the latest fabric and performance innovations. This ensures that we continually upgrade and refine our products to benefit from the best our industry has to offer.

From the initial concept right through to wearer trials, we work with our customers to address specific issues which operatives encounter day to day, using this insight to inform our process. This means that SMI can collaborate with you to design bespoke products, tailored to overcome the key risks, problems or comfort issues which your team face in their everyday role.

Forecasting

We provide you with unrivalled Account Management, which ensures that each of our customers benefits from a knowledgeable, informed and highly responsive service. A large part of this is our Forecasting service, which ensures that all aspects of your contract are monitored and reviewed to proactively anticipate your needs, and trends on your account. We have a dedicated team of Analysts responsible for contract monitoring, and applying this insight into demand to our supply chain. As a result, we are able to promptly flex resource to ensure that we always have the resource, materials and capacity to meet every order effectively, to the right timescales.

Our Forecast Analysts work closely with Account Managers for each contract, to provide insight into behaviours and trends. They accommodate details such as planned client rollouts, to maximise co-ordination across the supply chain, and inform our stock management. The combined work of Analysts and Account Managers also serves to generate data which enable us to recommend efficiencies for each of our clients, based upon demand, uptake, and purchasing trends.
