Account Executive (Sales)
Job Description:
The role of Account Executive involves proactively managing, retaining and growing existing accounts, whilst maximizing sales profitability. Developing key relationships across accounts and actively seeking to understand their business requirements both short term and long term. Delivering excellent customer service through frequent contact with our clients and identifying new opportunities across SMI’s product portfolio with effective outbound calling.
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per year

Location: Hybrid - Petersfield (Head Office) / Working from home

Area of Responsibilities:
- Assist Key Account Manager's (KAM’s) to manage a portfolio of accounts at both group and depot level over the telephone
- Arrange client meetings to review their account via video calls (Microsoft Teams)
- Confidently promote the company brand and products to clients
- Establish and maintain a good relationship with all clients
- Deliver a first class level of customer service to all clients
- To consistently achieve set weekly and monthly activity and revenue/profit targets
- Utilise Phocas to identify and log GAP opportunities against accounts to better understand client’s current and future needs
- Maintain accurate client records, all correspondence must be recorded in a timely manner in Pipedrive
- Maximise opportunities by keeping up to date with existing and potential clients
- Identify upselling opportunities
- Identify and resolve any client concerns
- Collaborate and communicate with other internal departments where appropriate, particularly CX
- Ensure communication is maintained with key stakeholders including Procurement, Health & Safety and Operational representatives within your clients
- Continue to improve your knowledge of SMI’s products range including new product arrivals
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word
- Ability to learn new processes and systems
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective listening skills
- Ability to prioritise and work on multiple tasks
- Confident when dealing with difficult situations and decisions
- Organised and self motivated
- Ability to work in a team
- Flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude
Education and Experience:
- At least 1 years of experience in a B2B Telephone Account Management or Telesales focused role
- Ability to engage with clients on the telephone in a confident and professional telephone manner
- Experience in working towards targets
- Full UK driving license
