  • A rigger boot is a pull‑on safety work boot. It's typically a brown colour, reaching about a third up the calf. It usually has a steel toe cap, and a fur-lined interior.

  • Yes. Quality rigger boots conform to European EN ISO 20345 standards (e.g. S3). They typically offer certified toe protection, penetration-resistant midsoles, slip resistance, and water resistance.  

  • Yes, some rigger boots are rated for electrical hazards (EH) and their sole can withstand heat of up to 300 °C.

  • Clean your rigger boots regularly with a soft brush and mild soap. Let them air-dry naturally, condition leather parts occasionally, and inspect them for wear and tear.

    You might need to replace your rigger boots every 6 to 12 months; it really depends on how often you wear them and the conditions they go up against. Or replace them when damaged.

  • Many rigger boots are water-resistant, but not all are fully waterproof.
