Disposable respirator masks are given an FFP class according to the level of protection they provide, based on requirements laid out in the EN 149 safety standard.
FFP3 respirators provide the highest level of protection that a disposable respirator mask can offer. These respirators can protect you from fine toxic particles such as asbestos, bacteria, and radioactive particles.
Meanwhile, FFP1 respirators provide the lowest level of protection. They can protect you from non-toxic particles like brick dust, cement, gypsum, and limestone.
You can buy disposable respirators right here at SMI, as well as other respiratory protection equipment like reusable half masks and powered respirators.

You can normally use a disposable respirator for the duration of one work shift (around eight hours) before discarding it.
However, this can vary depending on the manufacturer; always follow the guidance given.
Disposable respirators are designed to be used only once.
Usually, you’ll want to throw it away at the end of a task or shift, after a maximum of eight hours.
However, you’ll need to dispose of it sooner if it becomes damaged, heavily soiled, or you notice that it becomes difficult to breathe with it on (in this case, the filter is probably clogged).
You should also check the expiration date and discard them once they reach the end of their shelf life.
