• What packing materials can be recycled?

  Packing materials like paper and cardboard can always be recycled.

  However, many packing materials are recyclable but are not widely recycled. Check if they can be recycled in your area. 

  These materials include:

  • Glass
  • Metal
  • Plastic packaging, like polystyrene foam and peanuts
• What warehouse recycling bins do you need?

  It depends on the materials used in your warehouse. 
  

  For example, if you regularly deal with materials like cardboard and glass, you’ll likely need two different recycling bins.

• Where to buy warehouse recycling products?

  You can buy warehouse recycling products like sorting sacks and hooks at SMI.

  You can also shop for other waste management items, like refuse sacks and waste bins.

• What’s the best way to sort warehouse waste?

  Warehouse waste is best sorted through an easy-reach sack or trolley system.

  This allows waste to be quickly organised and then placed in the right recycling bin later on.

• What are the waste disposal rules for UK businesses?

  The UK government introduced Simpler Recycling Legislation to make waste disposal easier for UK businesses. 

  These regulations outline that waste should be separated into three categories:

  • Food waste
  • Dry recyclable materials
  • Non-recyclable materials

  All waste must be separated before collection. The easiest way to do this is by providing multiple waste and recycling bins.
