• Where can I buy first aid dressings?

  As well as bandages and dressings, our range includes skin closure strips, non-stretch tape, safety pins, and first aid scissors, covering you for all your needs.

• What should be in a workplace first aid kit?

  A workplace first aid kit should include:

  • Scissors
  • Foil blanket
  • Face shields
  • Adhesive tape
  • Disposable gloves
  • Plasters and wipes
  • Bandages and dressings

  Depending on your place of work, you may also need to include items such as eye pads and eye wash solutions.
  

  A health and safety risk assessment will help you to decide what items you’ll need to include in a workplace first aid kit.

• What is the difference between a bandage and a dressing?

  Bandages and dressings have similar roles, but they’re not the same:

  • A dressing is designed to be placed directly on a wound in order to protect it and promote healing. 
  • A bandage is used to hold dressings in place, to provide support, or to control bleeding.

  In this way, bandages and dressings often work together for wounds. The dressing is applied first, and the bandage goes over the top to hold it in place and provide compression.

• Where should dressings and wound care products be stored?

  Dressings and wound care products should be stored in a cool, dry, dark, and clean place, away from direct sunlight or radiators.

  This is because heat can degrade the materials, while dust and rodents could contaminate the products.
